Son, we experience so much in life now-a-days that is not real – that is not natural – that is, instead, a projection of the matrix that they control. I often wonder, when we look outside our windows into the natural world, how much of that is even really natural? And, let’s not forget that when we do stare out of our windows into the natural world, we are doing so from within a heated and airconditioned (controlled) environment, so we are not really getting the full effect for that which we are viewing. It’s sort of like watching TV with no sound. You do not really get the whole “picture” without experiencing the whole experience.
We tend to think from within this matrix into which we have been born. Our experiences from living within this matrix have shaped our minds. Preconceived notions that have been intentionally placed there, within the matrix, by serpents slithering through shadows change the way we think, change who we are, and, ultimately, change what we do… or don’t do. We no longer act wild and free because we aren’t wild and free. We just think we are because of the projections we are viewing from within the matrix… of lies!
We no longer trust what is real – that which we see with our own eyes, that which we think with our own minds and, most importantly, that which we sense with our own souls. We can no longer detect truth because we have been so compromised by repeated exposure to the subtle and convincing lies that are projected everywhere within this matrix that we have come to believe is reality. It is not!
We are domesticated dogs that sit in the “laps” of serpents. We come when they whistle, we sit when they say, “Sit,” and we stay whenever they tell us to do so… all so that we can get a treat or a morsel of food. Do you remember, Son, our talk of ownership from a while back? Who… owns us?
Sometimes it’s time to get away from it all and experience things in a completely different way.

Good morning, Son. It’s a little after 4 AM, and “Mama Cat”, Graham Cracker, Callie Cat, Muffin, Puddin, and James (Bond) have all been fed… oh, and Jingle Cat… I forgot about her. I named her that because she showed up around Christmastime, and she sort of prances around when she moves. She needs to be caught and spayed before she gets knocked up again. She was pregnant at some point… but she got over that and never brought any kittens around, so I guess she was unsuccessful her first go around with motherhood. She isn’t the most trusting of the bunch, but I can pet her… so long as there is food involved and she doesn’t make eye contact with me while I am petting her.
I don’t own any of these cats, but I might as well… at least in the wee hours before dawn every morning. I no longer even have to shake the plastic container of food to call them up now. As soon as I open the garage, they all come in a meowing. They roam all around, running between my legs and bellowing their good mornings until get the food in place, and they settle in around the pans. I may not control these cats, but during the last couple of hours before sunrise each day, they are controlled… by their routine – a routine that was taught them by me. You might say… I own these cats… but I wouldn’t. I don’t.
My intent in feeding these cats is not nefarious. I wish not to own them, I do not want to capture them (other than temporarily to have one of them spayed or neutered), and I do not wish to benefit from my relationship in any way other than in enjoying their company. I seek only to assist them a bit in their struggle to survive by providing them with a little supplemental sustenance and a few brief moments each day where they can feel at ease, get their necks and backs scratched, and not have to be on the constant lookout for someone or something that is trying to chase them off.
But this is not how the “elites”, the serpents in the shadows, think of us, We the People. They think of us pets to be cared for or, worse, as livestock to be profited from. They think of us as property to be owned and utilized for their benefit. At best, these “elites” want to control every aspect of our lives because they think we are too stupid to do it for ourselves. At the worst, they want to profit from our labors – “milk us for everything we own or slaughter us for our meat”.
They do not dangle a carrot before us as a treat. They do not shake the cat food container so that we may have some supplemental sustenance. No, if they lure us in, you can rest assured that it is not for our benefit – that it is for nefarious purposes. I truly think that their purposes are far more sinister than even I care to imagine. I don’t think that they even think of us as slaves any longer – as subjects from which they can draw a profit from our labors.
No! I think these psychopaths have evolved way passed playing hero of the common man because they like the attention it brings them to staging catastrophic events, donning their superhero capes, and rushing in, not to save the day, but to witness the carnage, the mayhem, and the ensuing pain and suffering that the victims suffer because they get some sort of sick pleasure out of it.
Just look at the world today, my son. They used to shrink back from their sick pursuits whenever the people had had enough and began to withdraw their support in the form of no longer purchasing the products or services that supported those… pursuits. But, now-a-days, these demented demons rush headlong into an endeavor as if blind to the bottom line – profits be damned!
Their agenda is what matters now, not the profitability of the endeavor. I know a big part of this is the way that they have monopolized everything! They can afford to be less responsive to the consumer because the own everything! If the consumer gets fed up with Walgreens, they just go diagonally across the intersection to Rite-Aid or CVS to get their prescription filled. What do the “elites” care? They own both!
They have long since learned the trick of funding both sides of every war – of every conflict. They have done this since at least the Napoleonic times. It’s just another string in their web of lies! They know it is best to own everything, hide in the shadows created by their wealth, and orchestrate false competition so that no matter which side wins, profit is still made and power is still amassed.
But… just how much money and power is needed? I mean, after so many years of amassing so much money and power, even money and power would become a bore, wouldn’t you think? So… what is it that these “elites” are after? What do they want now? Why do they still so vigorously shake the cat food container every morning when the cats are already there, waiting for their tidbits of sustenance anyway? Inquiring minds want to know.
I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.

Good morning, Son. I watched a video, “Misquoting Jesus in the Bible,” yesterday (well, listened to it anyway) in which this professor from Chapel Hill, Bart D. Ehrman, gave a lecture to an audience about errancy in scripture. He was very thorough, fairly well spoken, pretty interesting, and very well researched on the subject matter. He went on about how, in ancient times, if you wanted a copy of a document, all you had to do was…. copy it… by hand! Mistakes were almost always made, and, if you copied a copy, you were copying those mistakes while adding mistakes of your own. This went on for nearly a hundred years before the first copy of a copy of a copy of any of the four original gospels survived long enough to wind up in our hands today.
Sometime later than these first few precious copies of copies of original documents (referring to the four gospels) were made that did survive long enough for modern scholars to inspect, Christianity took hold of Western civilization, monasteries were established, and the task of copying copies of copies of originals became an industry. We have literally thousands of those copies… of copies!
This well researched and rehearsed speech went on. It was really very well done, I grant you that, but… it sort of just proves my point that the Bible is a box into which we have placed God. We have placed that box, and copies of copies of that box, upon shelves in museums. These have been collecting dust ever since, and, every now and then, we dust them off, open them up, and let God out of one the boxes long enough to inspect Him. This is not how God intended us to access and interact with Him. This is not how Jesus did it, nor is it how Jesus preached that we should do it. Jesus accessed and interacted with God directly, and that is how They, God and Jesus, intended us to do it as well.
Professor Ehrman went on and on about how and why mistakes were made. He justified some of them, minimized some of them, and trivialized some of them, but, all the while, he never broached the possibility that any of them were intentionally introduced errors. Sure, he discussed the fact that some of differences between these manuscripts were intentionally introduced by individual scribes who were attempting to correct an obvious error that had been previously introduced by accident; but he did not entertain the notion, that out of all the thousands upon thousands of discrepancies found in all these copies of copies, that any of them could have been intentionally and maliciously introduced.
So… God can do nothing to prevent the accidental marring of… “His Word”? We are only human, after all. But… He disallows by Divine fiat the intentional maligning of that same “Word” because some guy, who happens to have a pedigree, is well researched, and signs his name with a few extra letters at the end, says so… or, at least, does not mention it in his dazzling lecture? Is this just an oversight by this extremely smart, well educated man… or an intentional lie via omission? Is he a true believer in the cause and just another useful idiot who missed something… or is he a true believer in the system who has been put there by the system to protect the system?
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Happy Independence Day, Son! We are now more enslaved and dependent than ever before in history! We have many characters such as Morpheus in our world today – Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, Russel Brand, and a whole host of whistleblowers in various fields from doctors and nurses to entertainers and reporters, but… what we need now is a Neo! We need a Jesus Christ! We need a… Savior!
Christians keep sitting on their hands… or holding hands and singing Kumbaya… rather than acting like they’ve already got Jesus as Jesus had God Almighty! The Second Coming is, I think, the most misunderstood concept about Jesus there is… although, there are many close seconds – the Trinity concept, the Son of Man / Son of God concept, and the Resurrection concept, just to name a few.
Like so many of the concepts we hold as a society, these have all been shaped by serpents hiding in shadows for our consumption in the light of day. We miss the bullseye by the narrowest of margins or… by a mile. It really doesn’t matter. We miss. They win. The matrix continues. We hold hands, sing another verse of Kumbaya, and… wait!
What is it going to take to tip the scales? Why is Neo a no show? How come the Second Coming of Christ is taking so long? It’s been over two thousand years now… if time is really what they say it is and we can rely on the history we have been told. It seems we are nearing the goal… but they keep moving the goalposts! Like the mirage of water that appears on the roadway ahead of us as we travel towards it… it disappears – it seems to just vanish the closer we get to it!
God is with us! God is in us! We… just need to get us out of the way and let God be with us – be in us. Whether that us is a collective us as in following what the church says we should do or following what the Bible says we should do or following what the world says we should do; or whether that is individual us as in each of us following what our individual proclivities tell us we want to do rather than following what we know in our heart of hearts and soul of souls that we should do.
If we but follow Jesus – not the concept of Jesus that we’ve been taught we should follow by the serpents in shadows – but the real Jesus who rejected what He wanted to do as an individual and who rejected both what the world wanted to do and what His religion wanted Him to do as collectives, and, instead, sought out, listened to, and obeyed that still, small voice of the Creator that He found inside Himself, in His heart of hearts and soul of souls – we will find the Second Coming of Christ at hand!
This, my son, is the goalpost that they keep moving. Do you think, on this day of independence, that perhaps there is truth to the matter at hand? Could it be that we are insane in that we keep believing in the Bible and the church that defends it so vigorously while rejecting belief in the possibility that serpents are orchestrating it all from shadows? The greatest lie ever told was, “The devil does not really exist.” God is real… and so, my son, is the devil… for they are both within us waiting for us to choose. One seeks to free us from ourselves. The other seeks to enslave us with ourselves.
It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.

Good morning, Son. I went back and listened to Dr. Ehrman’s lecture again the very next day after I had listened to it the first time to pick up on some points that I may have missed. I made a note of a couple of these points. Firstly, Dr. Ehrman was very defensive of the Biblical canon and the Council of Nicaea and Constantine… the emperor turned Christian (might as well be Bill Gates or Jeffery Epstein turned Christian). I’m sorry, but I think those three things, the Biblical canon, the Council of Nicaea, and the Emperor of the Roman Empire, Constantine, are the three things – the very three things that have most darkened the light of Christianity and prevented it from illuminating the way to see the Light of Jesus Christ and, thus, the Spirit of our Creator for the last seventeen hundred years!
Jumping through hoops to “earn” a few extra letters at the end of you signature does little in the way of illuminating your soul. It, in fact, compromises it – it darkens it as the process is designed to do by the serpents slithering through the shadows of academia. This industry is no different than any other industry. They pick individuals that display exceptional hoop-jumping capabilities, groom them, compliment them, praise them, reward them, and… punish them (if need be) and… voila! They now have an obedient and cocky guard dog to set before whatever they deem needs… protecting.
Secondly, during the Q & A at the end of the lecture, some of the questions asked of Dr. Ehrman leaned on “independent researchers”. He squashed the dissent like a cockroach! He maligned and besmirched independent researchers as if the independence of the researchers was the problem! No! We cannot have that! We can’t have individuals running around teaching and preaching anything not canonized – not pedigreed – not authorized by official decree now… can we?
Excuse me… but isn’t that exactly what Jesus was hung on a cross for? It seems this definition of insanity just keeps holding true. We keep believing in authority – human authority – to change things over believing in the indwelling and transformative Spirit of the Divine and Almighty Creator of the entire universe to change those things… and then we are surprised when the matrix continues unabated.
Why not go out on a limb? That’s where the fruit is.

We must have an “authoritative account” of everything, Son, if it is to be believed and relied upon as accurate. We must have “responsible historians” telling us what is in the history that is recorded. What we can’t have is rogue researchers running around the globe accessing archives of our most treasured and ancient documents in search of something as trivial as truth. No! We must stick to what we are told… by those in authority over us. That is just the way it needs to be… to keep the matrix going without hitch.
Dr. Ehrman also had several snide comments about Dan Brown, author of “The Da Vinci Code”, that he let loose during his lecture and during the Q & A that followed. That’s fine. I mean, it is fiction anyway, but his digs at Dan were, it seemed, aimed more at the independent research Dan did in writing his book, than at the fictitious nature of his story. You know, Son, I have found over the 62 years that I have wandered this Earth, that more truth is revealed in fiction or in discredited accounts than in all of academia or the supposed news media. Those industries seem to exist, not to expose or uncover the truth, but rather to mix the truth with some sort of preprogrammed additive to form a hybrid history that has just enough truth in it so that it is widely accepted, but still leads the narrative down the wrong rabbit hole.
Serpents slithering in shadows and running the world via puppets that dance at the end of their strings upon stages illuminated by strange, unnatural lights – that is the matrix we see. All the world is a stage with puppets dancing at the ends of strings. All these movies we watch, novels we read, and advertisements we see tell us the truth… but it’s all wrapped up in lies!
There is no nobility, Son. These people living these lives in these works of fiction cannot have souls and live the lives they do because they would have had to have sold their souls to get those lives they live out in those fictional accounts of… “reality”. That is the lie – that you can have your cake and eat it too – that you can live a life of luxury and be at peace with yourself and with your soul intact.
The truth they tell you (and usually belittle as some hick way of life) is how you can be at peace with yourself – you fall in love, marry the love of your life, work hard, live simply, raise a family, and sacrifice all that other stuff that the world tells you you must have to be happy – lots of money, a big fine car, a big fancy house, and all the latest, trendy bling to go with it. You can have a career that is your heart’s desire, but you almost always sacrifice your family and the joy that comes with family to get it. There is a big difference between hard work… and a career. Perhaps we can flesh that out next time. I love and miss you, Son!
Adventure is not outside man; it is within.

July 7, 2024
Good morning, Son. I’m still half asleep. I stayed up way too late watching another one of those fictional accounts of reality that Hollywood puts out for our consumption. I consumed it… along with way too much food. Ugh! Anyway, I awoke at 3:30, but that was too early, so I forced myself back to sleep. By the time I achieved that task, my 5:00 alarm (I “sleep in” on Sundays) was going off, and I was dead to the world! I want so badly to just go back to sleep… literally and figuratively. I guess I am having a Cypher moment – blue pill me, Baby!
A career is a pathway down which others lead you to guide you to do the bidding of those at the top of that career field. Hard work is something you do to accomplish your goals and to do something constructive – to actually build something – to leave the world a better place than you found it. While you can make money traveling down either path, there is usually more to be made down the career path… so long as you follow the rules posted along the pathway and do not stray from them or the path. Hard work pays what it pays. It is compensation for the accomplishment of a task – for work completed – for a project done. Careers compensate you for staying within the lines as you color with the crayon that you’ve been assigned.
Careers are chosen because of the prestige they bring you – for the power you gain over others as you climb higher and faster than them – for the money it makes you as the pathway narrows and you so dutifully stick to it. Hard work is chosen because it needs to be done, because you are not scared of it, and because you have a passion for seeing it through to the end and then stepping back at the end of it all and, with pride( not the sinful kind), saying, “Look what these hands and a little sweat have accomplished.”
Can you work hard at a career? Sure you can, Son, but that is for you – not for the accomplishment of your goal or the completion of your vision. That is a selfish thing like picking up money you see someone else drop and sticking it into your pocket rather than returning it to the person who dropped it. It benefits you. It’s not making the world a better place. It promotes you rather than your calling, your dreams, and your vision. It enriches you at the expense of others. It is a bite of forbidden fruit taken at the suggestion of a serpent in a garden!
I’m in love with cities I’ve never been to.

Serpents in shadows (or in the garden), bites of forbidden fruit, Adam and Eve, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, Israel, Moses, Jesus, Crucifixion, Death, Resurrection – these things are real… in that they are representative of certain aspects – certain truths about humanity. Are they – were they real so far as being historical facts? I don’t know. Some of them were probably based on historical happenings. More of them were probably literary devices created to attempt to convey a point – a truth about humanity to humanity.
If the point of a story is true, does it make it any less real – any less true simply because it was conveyed in an intentionally fictitious story verses a maliciously fictitious history? I mean, just how much can we rely upon the facts of history anyway? Truth is truth. It remains long after a story is told… or a history is rewritten… for the umpteenth time.
It’s short and sweet today, my son. I have ignored the subtle callings of the road for far too long now and, instead, have answered the overwhelming enticements of satanic foods – pies, cookies, ice cream, and the like. I love them far too much, and I love you, Son!
Every few hundred feet the world changes.

Son, your mother and I just finished watching the movie, “Southern Gospel” – excellent movie! I wish so much that you could have seen it and could have been moved by it the way we were. I must elaborate sometime on the scene at the end of the movie where the main character, who has just become the new pastor of a church, fulfilling his life-long dream and vision, rubs his fingers across the lettering of his name on the front cover of his Bible that his daddy gave him back in like 1964. The movie took place over pretty much his whole life, but this scene was set in 1986, some 22 years later.
This sparked a thought in my head that, change it every year or bury it in the ground for a thousand or more years, it matters not, because God’s Word is not in the book. It is in you! I see God in everything – everywhere – because God is in me – not because He is in those things, although He is. It matters not the translation used or that serpents in shadows have twisted it by funding certain interpretations of it over others. God shines through all that.
His truth is truth not because some book or some translation of some book says so. It is truth because it is truth, and the human heart and soul know it. Some human wrote it in a long lost original of that which is today in that book because his heart and soul, illuminated by God’s Holy Spirit, convicted him that it was the truth. It was the truth then. It is the truth now, but not because a book says so. Good night, Son. I love you.
Not all those who wander are lost.

July 9, 2024
Good morning, Son. Some tropical storm or hurricane is supposed to move through today, “Beryl,” I think it is. Anyway, it’s already windy with flashes of lightning in the sky. Hopefully, we’ll get some rain out of it too so I can take a break from all this watering I’ve been having to do lately.
Son, we are all wanderers upon this Earth. No one is perfect. Even the most “together” person falls apart at times, and the most seemingly “perfect” person has flaws. We are all… “Marred vessels for His glory!” We are parts of a whole. We aren’t meant to do it all. We are meant to work together, doing our parts, as individual pieces of that whole, to make it work… for His glory.
A finger, on its own, is not necessarily… glorious; a foot, by itself, cannot kick a stone down the road; a torso, with no limbs, is more of a burden than a blessing; and even the most brilliant mind that humanity has ever produced is of little consequence to humanity without a body through which to convey that brilliance to the rest of the world. So it is with God, the Father; God, the Son; and God, the Holy Ghost.
God, the Father – the Creator of all there is would not be much of a god if He were all there is. With no universe to be God of, God would not be so… glorious, now would He? God the Son – the Created universe – the manifestation of God, the Creator, would not be glorious either without access to, transformation by, and guidance from God, the father. Suppose there was no natural law to run the physical universe and no moral law to run the spiritual? How glorious would a universe thus filled with chaos be? And that, my son, brings us to the third manifestation of the Holy Trinity – the Holy Ghost.
How would your body fare without access to your brain? Not only would the voluntary actions of your body be impossible – you’d think, “I want to reach over there, pick up that cup, and take a drink,” but nothing would happen; but also the involuntary actions of your body would be impossible – your heartbeat, your breathing, and your blood flow simply would not occur.
The Holy Spirit of the godhead is the… spinal cord of the godhead. It takes all three to make one! A creator god without a created universe is not God. A created universe without God is just chaos, but… a created universe with its god moving the pieces around within it like the pieces on a chessboard is just about as meaningful as a game.
This isn’t a game! There is no glory without freewill to overcome, and there are two ways of accomplishing that. The devil uses fear, intimidation, and enticement to wrest freewill from… victims and to then force them to perform the actions of his will. God uses love to motivate His body to perform the actions of His will. God’s body is to perform God’s will out of love for God and for no other reason! To act in hopes of receiving some reward or to stave off some punishment is not what God is all about. Heaven is knowing and loving God. Hell is not knowing Him, and that is all there is to it!
God’s people – God’s body must be able to access God’s mind, and, therefore God’s will, and this is done through the Holy Spirit – God’s spinal cord! Anything else, my son, is just chaos… or a lie! Just look at the world today. It is chaos because serpents in shadows have convinced people through authorized books and trendy social clubs that God is in those books and clubs – not in themselves – not in their hearts – not in their minds – not in their souls. God, to these people, is something… external – something mysterious – something not to be understood but to be read about or explained to them. They have broken the neck of God’s body and severed His body’s spinal cord. God’s body is… paralyzed!
Wherever you are, be all there.

It must seem strange, Son, to talk about God thusly, huh? But we must start to think differently about God if His body is to rehabilitate and regain mobility upon this Earth, for We the People are His body. God, the Father, Creator of all there is, has eternity to wait on us to figure all this out. He waited on the dinosaurs to evolve, thrive for millions of years, die out, and then for us to evolve. He can, and will, wait on this. He will not infringe our freewill, move us around like pieces on a chessboard, and do it for us.
God needs us to rehabilitate – to regrow those synapses – to reconnect our neurons – to start to wiggle our toes and our fingers – to move our feet and our hands – to struggle upon parallel bars and shuffle our feet one before the other – to walk, to run, and then… to soar! This… my son, is the Second Coming of Christ. This is when God walks the Earth for the Second time as man – as Man! This is what Jesus prayed about in the Garden of Gethsemane the night before He was executed for being… God on Earth!
Son, this is how it is. God is three persons – God, the Father; God, the Son; and God, the Spirit. If God is to move upon this Earth, other than in rigid, unyielding natural law like gravity or the conservation of energy or any of the dozen other such things we learned in physics class, He must have all three persons of the godhead functioning correctly. Creator, the created, and the Spirit that connects them must all work together as One!
Fathers live on, usually, into eternity through their children. Son, you must now live on through me – through my pencil – through this journal. I am nothing, Son. I have been bolstered upon the shoulders of giants. I do nothing but obey the calling of God to hold this pencil in my hand every morning. I take no credit for what results. That is God working through you, into me, and out of this pencil. I thank God for you, Son – for the blessing you were, and are, to your mother and me. I so miss the footfalls of your footsteps upon your journey. I am glad, though, that they continue here in this… wanderer’s journal. I love you, Son.
Every adventure is worthwhile.

Whew! What a night, Son. I woke up at 11:30 last night and lay awake until 12:30 this morning before finally saying, “To heck with it!” and getting up. I went to work and uploaded entries from this journal book into the blog, “A Wanderer’s Journal” that I set up to share our journey with the world until my 5:00 alarm went off. I then came home to feed the dogs and the feral cats and to get dressed for work. I don’t know what good I am going to be to anybody today, but… I reckon I’ll give it a shot. Hopefully, I can come home this evening and have the clarity of mind to revisit you here. If not… I’ll talk to you tomorrow. I love you, Son.
One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.

July 12, 2024
Good morning, Son. I don’t know if I am yet over my two hours of sleep from the night before last. I cannot quit yawning, but I shall endeavor to journey onward. Where were we? We were talking about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost – the Trinity – the godhead – and how it takes all three persons to be functional – to work – to accomplish God’s will – the will of the Father – the Creator.
There is a fourth person involved in these affairs, though, Son, that we must be wary of. He is serpentine and slithers through gardens and shadows. He convinces us (or attempts to) that the other three persons are not real, or don’t matter, or are not as they are, but, rather, something entirely different – something magical – something mythical – something external and distant – something… unobtainable.
This… is a lie! This is that target that your enemy does not want you to ever hit. This is that bright and shiny, vividly-colored exterior of that fancied-up, cool-looking “sports car” that your enemy wants you to focus on… rather than looking under the hood and asking questions about the engine of this thing. This is the words of the Bible. This is the pomp and ceremony of the church. It is the memorization of Bible verses versus the transformation of your soul by the Holy Spirit of the Creator of the entire universe so that God… can once again be imbodied and walk through the garden in the cool of the evening upon this Earth.
Do you see the subtle differences in these things, Son? Can you tell that it doesn’t take much for your enemy, the serpent, to distract you and make you miss your mark? He need but tickle your ear with a blade of grass while you are aiming, and you miss hearing the whisper of that still, small voice that eternally calls to you, “I am here. I am with you. Be still and know… I am your God.”
The storm of life rages within us as well as without us. We are beat up and injured in this life physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, but they are all interconnected. Each one of the above affects the others and this can create a domino affect within us. We must be wary of that. We cannot just focus on one aspect of our personhood.
We cannot just exercise our bodies and be a fit person. We can’t just see a psychiatrist and be well mentally. We cannot just surround ourselves with friends to perfect our emotional well-being. We can’t just go to church or read the Bible and memorize its verses and be spiritually healthy. And… we cannot reattach the bite taken from forbidden fruit by meditating, chanting, or praying incessantly any more than a year can be comprised of eternal springtime.
There are seasons in years. There are seasons in life. There are seasons in humanity, and there are seasons in humans – in us – within us. We must go through those seasons and not get stuck in an eternal spring… for there is no such thing. There is no utopia! The serpents – the wise serpents who run this world from the shadows have learned this, and they want nothing more than for us to focus on that brightly-colored, shiny exterior – the words of the Bible – the ceremony and the rigid structure of the church – the glint of trinkets held up in the sunshine by others for you to see… and desire.
They are crafty, my son, these serpents slithering through gardens and in shadows. They have many tricks up their sleeves. If one does not work, they simply pull out another. They seem tireless in their endeavor! Their goal, though, is not to expend all their energy fighting us. No! Their strategy is simple – to get us to expend all of our energy fighting one another – to get us to then be demoralized to the point where we just give up and die! Is this what happened to you, my son? I am so sorry I failed you! Please forgive me, Son, for not ensuring that you knew that there was hope – that there is a still, small voice eternally whispering in the hurricane of life, “I am here. I am with you.”
I am not the same having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world.

Where shall we wander today, my son? Let’s step on and see what the trail has in store for us. There are so many ways to prevent you from receiving God’s whispered message and becoming God’s hands and feet as you wander this Earth. The slithering serpents can make so much… “noise” hissing their distractions from the shadows that your “ear” simply does not hear God’s voice. You just… miss it as you focus on the distractions – chasing the material offerings of materialism, seeking the thrill of organized, centralized, and mass produced entertainment, or any other sort of gaudy, flashy, and trendy distraction designed to… distract you and drown out the faint whispers of… God’s voice.
Snakes have no ears with which to hear God’s voice. They have long since “sold their souls” for an earthly reward – money – power – position. Though they know about God’s message, they care not what it says. They, in fact, gather God’s words that others have written down, sort through them, organize and reorganize them until the message we receive isn’t even what God said or what those who originally recorded them meant. Snakes are crafty, devious little creatures. They rattle distractions on one end and strike with poison from the other!
So… serpents make noise to keep you from hearing God’s voice at all, and they twist and distort whatever message others record so that even if you do receive it, you won’t get what God said or what those others meant. What else to these slippery serpents do? Well, as I said, my son, “They have many tricks up their sleeves. If one does not work… they simply pull out another.” A third way they prevent your ear from receiving God’s message is to convince you that you’re crazy – that you are… hearing things. They use the art of science, not to further human knowledge about the universe, but to distort human knowledge about what is and what is not out there!
They try to convince you, not only that God is not real and that His message (tainted or otherwise) is not real, but that the matrix that they have created is the only thing that is real. With this, they don’t even have to try to conceal or distort God’s message or our ideas about God. They just get you to ignore it… completely! They have gotten really good at this trick too. I think that they think it’s even sort of funny – like it’s some sort of game or a joke to them because, they not only distract us and deter us from hearing God’s message and distort what little remains, but they also pit us all against one another and encourage us to fight about who is right about it. Some say, “There is no god.” Some say, “God said this…” others say, “God said that…” and still others say, “Who cares what God said! Look at all this stuff!”
Life is either a great adventure or nothing.

I am… beat-up today. I did a bunch of yardwork yesterday, and I am paying for it today! I can barely walk, and, as I put pencil to paper, all I can seem to think is how surreal it is that you’ve been gone from us for three months now. In some ways, when I think about it, I think, “It’s hard to believe that it’s already been three months,” but, in most ways, when I think about it, I think, “It’s hard to believe that it’s only been three months.” It seems that much more trail has passed beneath our feet than a mere three month’s worth… but, alas, we shall step on, my son.
I usually just sit “Indian style” on an Indian blanket that I have on one of the twin beds in your room as I write to you each morning, but, this morning, in my “beat-up” condition, I just can’t contort like that; so I am in here in the “situation room” at the new desk we bought when we got the new dining table a while back. This is much easier on this old body of mine – particularly on my knees – but my shoulders – my beat-up, old, worn-out shoulders are still suffering! I guess that’s enough whining for now. Let me limp on down the trail a ways.
Son, I am firmly convinced that precious little we see as we wander past the backdrops aligning the path we travel in this life is organic – is naturally occurring – and, that anything that did originate that way, has been taken over, sanded down, and repainted to mesh more seamlessly with the rest of the… backdrop upon which we gaze to get our bearings afield.
The “producers” and the “directors” running this show from the shadows of backstage probably snicker at us as we argue about where we are or where we should go as we gaze upon these fabricated backdrops to gain our perspectives, gather our intel, and brainstorm our strategies. We are actors who are delusional! We actually believe we are living the roles we are playing… and the “producers” and the “directors” just rub their hands together, sit back, and smile as the play continues, the crowd gives undulating and raucous applause, and the critics publish their rave reviews. Yes, Son, there is much truth in fiction and precious little truth in… authoritative accounts of what, supposedly, is.
Sometimes it’s time to get away from it all and experience things in a completely different way.

Good morning, Son. So… what is the answer? What is the question? The question is: “How do we live natural, organic, free lives and escape the matrix of lies that the serpents project from the shadows in which they slither?” The answer is that we must, not just realize that the matrix is a web of mutually supporting lies, nor that it is not for our benefit, nor that it is for their profit, but that it has actually been crafted for our detriment and our demise.
We must, like the glutton, say, “No more!” and push back from the table. We must, like the alcoholic, smash our bottle against the wall and walk away from drunkenness. We must, like the drug addict, admit that our drug of choice (materialism, the high-paying, cushy jobs that enable materialism, and life, in general, within the comfort of the matrix) is not our friend, is not a god, and is not the answer.
We must be willing to sacrifice all the superficial shit that the matrix offers us in exchange for our souls… to get our souls back. So long as we love the taste of forbidden fruit on tongues, we cannot walk through the garden in the cool of the evening with God by our side. We cannot have our cake and eat it too. We cannot serve two masters… and the serpents know this. That’s why they polish up that forbidden fruit, color it with all sorts of pretty dyes, and wax its surface so that it’s so shiny we can’t resist taking… just one bite regardless how toxic the wax and dyes are or how poisonous the fruit itself is.
We must, like the serpents, also come to know this. We must reject their offerings as fervently as they push those offerings upon us. We must come to see forbidden fruit, not as an enticing offering from a gracious host, but as the free cheese in a mousetrap that it is. But… who can resist free cheese – right? Snap! It is so very hard to… push back from the table, smash that bottle against the wall, flush those pills down the toilet, turn that Netflix marathon off, or put that smart phone down, but we must! Evening is nigh, the air in the garden is cooling, and, my son, God is waiting for us there with outstretched arms.
Wherever you go, go with all your heart.

July 16, 2024
Good morning, Son. It’s a little after 2 AM… and I am here, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! Mom is having an injection into the joint of her hipbone this morning at 9:30. The pain management doctor seems to think that the arthritis in those joints is what is causing the bulk of the excruciating pain she is having that is running down from her lower back to the back of her upper thighs. I certainly hope that this gives her some relief. Lord knows she deserves some!
I would like to continue on with the discussion at hand., but I can’t help but be distracted by my calling to get “A Wanderer’s Journal” uploaded and published on the internet so others can access it. I think I may take a break from writing, go to work, and enter a few pages before I have to take your mother for her procedure.
I have no way of entering anything from home. We have not been able to get into your computer. We don’t know your password, so we are just having the hard-drive replaced so that we can, at least, use it. (Ironic footnote: On the day I entered this entry into the computer at work, the IT guy got your computer back to me, so I guess I will soon be able to enter from home.) We’ll save the old hard-drive in hopes that we’ll be able to get in to it at a later time. Perhaps I can visit you again during Mom’s procedure. I love you, Son.
I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.
- Susan Sontag
0800
I decided not to go back into work until after Mom’s procedure, so… I’m back! Let’s flesh-out more of that answer to that question of how do we escape the matrix of lies that is being projected for us to believe as true – as reality? It’s not enough to know the truth. A glutton can know he is overeating. That does him no good what-so-ever! An alcoholic can know he is a drunk. That changes nothing! A pill-popper can know that the answer is not… in that bottle of pills and still pop pills like a kid with a bag of Skittles!
No, my son, action is required. Action must then be followed by discipline. Discipline must become mindset, and mindset must become the new reality for the individual who was shown the light of truth and came to the knowledge that change was needed. There have been millions of people changed in this way, but there are billions of people on this Earth! What are we going to do about them?
Son, this, I think, is one of the greatest unanswered questions that has ever been put to humanity! This, I think, is what the Second Coming of Christ is all about. This is a fairly complicated concept that is hidden in shadow and light and at some distance across a vast field that is being illuminated by the dawning of a new Son with the mist and haze of the previous night’s dew hanging over its surface, slowly rising and revealing that which is hidden beyond.
One person “seeing the light” and “knowing the truth” is like one person attempting to lift and move the carcass of a mighty oak tree that has been downed by a storm. A dozen people would be little better at that task. A hundred people still could not move such a thing. Could a thousand people move an entire, centuries-old oak tree from the place where a storm felled it? Perhaps, but I doubt it, and the problem becomes that the more people you get in on the project, the more people you have getting in the way of the project. So… what is the answer? Time to get ready to take Mom for her procedure. More to come…
It feels good to be lost in the right direction.

They just took Mom back. Hopefully she’ll come out with some relief from all this pain she’s been suffering. The universe has dumped a lot on her of late!
So… even if we had every person on the face of the planet in on this project of moving a fallen giant oak tree, could we – would we be able to move it? I mean… where would everyone stand? I don’t know, but it would certainly be a more efficient use of time, resources, and personnel to delegate duties, designate teams, and… cut the tree up into smaller pieces to move it out of the way rather than trying to move the whole thing in one piece, wouldn’t it?
God’s body is not much different than the body of that mighty oak. The individual parts of that body should follow the Spirit of the Father and the Son in the same way that the individual leaves of that tree once followed the sun. If the leaves of that tree had all followed one another, as if the lead leaf knows the best way or the only way to the sun, wouldn’t that have made for a strange looking and oddly inefficient tree?
We are no different in that respect – in the respect of following God’s Holy Spirit and acting as God’s body here on Earth. Jesus showed us the way! The way is not to follow Him – the man, Jesus of Nazareth. That’d be like the leaves of the tree all following a lead leaf to the sun. No, the Son followed the calling of the Father through the Holy Spirit in the same way that the leaves of that tree followed the warmth of the sun to the sun – toward the sun. They did not follow each other! The Son was the personification of God on Earth. The Son was the example of mankind to mankind!
Jesus lived and walked the dusty roads of Galilee two thousand years ago. We have no recordings of His voice, we have no writings from His hand, nor do we have any original, firsthand accounts of either… either. As discussed on July 3rd and 5th, all we have is copies of copies of copies of these accounts… and we all know how corrupt copies of copies of copies can become whether by accident or… with malice aforethought.
So, are we to follow copies of copies of copies of what someone said Jesus said like leaves following leaves following leaves to the sun, or… are we to do as Jesus did and follow the Spirit of the Son to the Father as the leaves of the mighty oak actually and individually followed the warmth of the sun to the sun?
Now, this is where it gets tricky. This is where we really need to understand what Jesus meant when He said what He said about sin and repentance and forgiveness. Son, this is not about being… nice as the church would have you believe. This is not about following some list of dos and don’ts that the church has penned and passed down for generations. Those are leaves following leaves following leaves.
No! We must admit we are dirty and in need of being cleansed before we can be cleansed, just as the glutton, the alcoholic, and the drug addict must admit that they need to be transformed – to be changed – radically changed on a fundamental level before they can be changed at all. Those who do not think that they need to be changed cannot be change until they first admit it. Someone who thinks they know everything cannot be taught anything.
God cannot work through an unwilling body. I guess I should say, “God will not…” rather than “God cannot…” because God has eternity to wait for the consequences of one’s own actions to break one’s own will and bring one to surrender. God simply will not infringe our freewill to have His way. He loves us too much. He will wait… He will eternally whisper in the hurricane, “I am here for you. I am here with you…” and He will wait…
We have but from the first beat of our heart until the last beat of our heart to hear His voice, to listen to his message, and to make the decision to obey His calling to be His body upon this Earth as Jesus did. We must learn to discern what is and what is not His voice – what is and what is not His message – what is and what is not His calling or His command. We, as Jesus did, must always answer the call, reject the lie, and know the truth… and then act on it in that moment!
It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters in the end.

July 17, 2024
Good morning, Son. Where shall this trail we wander take us today? Can any of us, the younger (spiritually speaking) brothers and sisters of Jesus, really be God’s body on Earth? Can we be as perfect at hearing, listening to, discerning, obeying, and acting on God’s eternally whispering still, small voice? I don’t know. I certainly seem to spend more of my time picking myself up off of the floor and my face than I do boldly stepping out on the path God has laid out for me to walk. But… one thing is for sure – we cannot serve two masters – we cannot live within the matrix of lies, reaping that which benefits us from within it and walk the path that God has for us to walk as individuals at the same time. We simply cannot walk in the light and with the serpents in shadows simultaneously.
As the glutton, the alcoholic, and the drug addict must no longer live within the matrix of gluttony, alcoholism, and drug addiction, we too must shed the cloak which envelopes us in the matrix of lies if we have any hope of fulfilling Jesus’ prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane and be one with God – be One with God – be God’s body on Earth – be… God on Earth.
No glutton, alcoholic, or drug addict walks a straight line out of gluttony, alcoholism, or drug addiction. It is usually more of a curvy, crooked, pitfall-filled line. No repentant sinner of any sort walks a perfectly straight line out of the matrix which ensnared and enveloped them either. We all stumble, we all fall short, and we all backslide, but, if we do not practice walking a straight line, we will not ever walk a straight line.
We wander lost and within a matrix of lies that we believe to be the truth – that we believe to be reality. Jesus wandered as well. Though He wandered, He was not lost. He wandered the path His Father had for Him to wander. He wandered through the matrix of lies spreading His message of truth to a world of people who desperately needed… a message of truth. Are we any different today?
We are not! If anything, we are even more desperate today than the people were in Jesus’ time. We are in even more dire straights, the winds are higher, the current is stronger, and the rocks are nearer and sharper than ever before! The ship of humanity has never been in more danger of sinking into the abyss than at this time. I fear that only the Second Coming of Christ can save us now!
But, Son, where is our Neo? Where is our Savior? Why doesn’t Jesus just… Come on Back? Revisit the words in red in the New Testaments of your Bible if the answer is not readily coming to you. Reread some of the earlier entries into this journal if you don’t already know the answers to those questions. Empty your heart out in fervent prayer to God the Father as Jesus did in Gethsemane the night before He was executed for being God on Earth… the first time… to see if, perhaps, that emptied out heart is not then filled with the conviction of truth that we… are the answer. We… just aren’t answering the call of that still, small voice within this hurricane of life – within this matrix of lies – that is inviting us to become a part of God’s body – to be… God’s body.
Why not go out on a limb? That’s where the fruit is.
- Mark Twain

Mornin’, Son. Oh to be fully surrendered as Jesus was! Oh to commit your ear to only hearing God’s still, small voice and being able to tune out the droning of the hurricane that is life in this material world. Can we do this? Can we be as Jesus was? The answer is, “Yes!” Am I there yet? The answer is, “No! Not by a longshot.” Is anyone yet wandering this Earth… there yet? I seriously doubt it. Should we… I don’t know… just quit – just not even try? The answer is… “No!“
Should the alcoholic not smash his bottle against the wall when he’s had enough of drunkenness… even if it is the dozenth time? No! Should the glutton not push back from the table and say, “No more,” even if it is not his first time doing so? No! Should the drug addict not flush those pills down the toilet… even if he has done this time and time before? The answer is still, “No!“
We cannot learn to run before we learn to walk. We cannot walk before we crawl. We do not crawl before we are carried, we cannot be carried before we are conceived, and, my son, we will never soar until we grow the wings with which to do so and run headlong into the wind that is blowing against us. Just because we cannot now do something, that is no reason to just not try at all.
If you cannot yet even crawl, let God carry you… just know that life is not about being carried. Life is not about being an eternal infant. No. Life is about being carried until you can crawl, crawling until you can walk, walking until you can run, running until you can soar, and soaring until you can carry someone else, giving them the freedom to find their own wings as they grow into them and are then able to continue the cycle.
So often, Son, we fail to see the cycles in life. We see a tree in a forest, and we think that it has always been as so. We fail to see the seed that it once was, the seedling that it later became, or the rotten log laying on the forest floor that it one day will be. We see someone in need, we help them, we hold them, we carry them… and we make them an infant for the rest of their lives because we fail to see their potential. We only see their brokenness in the moment. Do our actions help them to heal and to grow, or do our actions help us to feel better about ourselves?
We are treated rudely by someone else, and we respond with rudeness and spitefulness of our own. We fail to see the financial hardship that they are facing, or the abuse that they are suffering, or the physical or the emotional pain that they are enduring. Just as the seed became a seedling, and the seedling will one day be nothing but a log, rotting upon the forest floor, it can, at some point in between those two extremes, become a Mighty Oak, producing thousands of acorns – seeds – of its own… if conditions are conducive to this outcome. This… is what we should see, for this… is what God sees.
We cannot see the eternity of this universe, Son, particularly when we are younger and have so few years behind us. We focus not on the cycles that are found in nearly everything! We see only what is. What is… is not what was. What is… is not what shall be. What is… is only this step we are taking at this moment as we wander this earthly realm in this infinite and eternal universe. God sees it all. If we are to be His body on Earth, we must not be blind. We must see as does He! I so wish, Son, that I had not been blind to this as you were struggling to find your way upon this Earth. I love you, my precious son! I love you.
Adventure is not outside man; it is within.

Good morning, Son. It is 3:30 AM – time to rise and shine! Well, it’ll be another couple of hours before the “shine” part kicks in, but at least I got the “rise” part going. The feral cats are fed. “Graham Cracker”, the only male offspring of “Mama Cat”, has been AWOL now for over a week. I fear he’s “gone” – whether that means he’s been pick-up by animal control, otherwise adopted, or road-killed, I don’t know. He was an orange and white cat and was big! He was the friendliest of the bunch. “Mama Cat” is a small orange tabby. She’s been blinded in one eye and was pregnant that last time I saw her, which was about four days ago. I don’t know whether her kittens came (she didn’t look to be that far along to me) or whether something has happened to her as well. Anyway… that’s enough about feral cats.
I’m in love with cities I’ve never been to.

Let’s see where we shall wander today, shall we? I can’t stress enough how important it is for us, as individuals and as collectives, to not be hooked on this material, temporal world. Sure, we need things to survive within it, but if we focus on that, we sacrifice our ability to see as God sees. We not only sacrifice our future, but, more importantly, we also sacrifice our children’s future and our grandchildren’s future all for the sake of some trinkets that we have been convinced that we need by peer pressure, product placement, and… serpents in shadows.
We must find balance as we wander through this world, Son. Jesus was all in! The human race would not survive if we all took on His particular calling. He was all about the future, and that’s fine. The human race certainly needed that. That was His calling. His calling, though, called for Him to sacrifice having a wife, earthly love, children, grandchildren, and so on. These are all beautiful parts of the human experience. They are much of what inspires art, poetry, song, music, and other such human expressions to be… expressed. How much poorer would the human race be if all of that were… erased?
As we struggle to walk a beam or tightrope, attempting to remain upright as we constantly shift our weight – our… center of gravity – our balance and focus – from one side to the other, we must not be so focused on not falling off to the right that we do fall off to the left. We must, likewise, be so focused on life in this material world as we wander through it, neither being all consumed with the material and the fleeting nor being all consumed with the ethereal and the eternal.
How do we do this? Part of this comes naturally as we shift our focus from the rope, or beam, upon which we are attempting to balance, to the terminal point at the end. If we go through life focused on life, it’s like walking while focusing on your feet. When we walk, we, as we should, focus on where we are going – not on what our feet are doing, do we not? Materialism and victim mentality are the two feet that the serpents in shadows want you to focus on so that you do… lose your balance.
Shit happens! Things break and get lost or stolen. Yes, it’s nice to have nice things to accompany you through this material world, but… do you really want to sacrifice eternity for the sake of some stuff? If you had a gold brick on a sinking ship, would you… save the brick? This brings to mind a poem I once wrote. I’ll have to see if I can find it.
I once travelled weary and weak
and begged of you a moment to speak,
but now I sit amongst my things
as if, upon a throne, I were a king.
My moment has come – it’s passed me by.
I leaped from my nest but did not fly.
I rule my world from where I sit –
my world of things… ‘round which I flit.
Meager, at best, although they are,
they’re all I’ve got from my travels afar,
such lofty notions, I once beheld,
as around the world I vicariously sailed.
Through books and productions of others I lived.
Through their eyes the question of life was sieved.
I merely rode upon the wave of their ship’s bow,
for I had no boat on which through oceans to plow.
My eye caught the glint of earthly things
and I became jealous of earthly kings.
I yearned for a place to call my own.
I longed for a place… to call my home.
So I let go of ships and travels afar
and lofty notions of where we are
as a race within the whole grand scheme
of this universe… and of her King.
I took a queen and brought her home –
flesh of my flesh and bone of my bone.
She bore me a princess and then a prince,
and I’ve ventured little from my kingdom since.
But princes and princesses become kings and queens
and eventually move on with their own things,
or they, perhaps, travel the unknown
through oceans of notions… of their own.
They invent lighter light
and give the world brighter night,
or, perhaps, collect greater things
and become even greater kings.
But I know for sure this one thing,
as the sun sets upon this old king,
and that is that time will tick on
even and long after I am gone.
So I reach out and take my queen
as the sun sets ablaze my kingdom of things
secure in the knowledge that in the night
I will slumber forever in a Kingdom of Light.
So forgive me, Lord, for my life of sin
and take from me all that is within
this old man who put everything…
into the treasury… of his kingdom of things.

Son, storms come, and they sometimes break things. They cause damage and injuries. Damage can be repaired and injuries can heal. Things might not ever be the same, but… the world moves on, and so to… does the life upon it. I hate that I was not there to help you see this and to then… move on with the world. I hate that you… were damaged beyond repair… or, at least that you thought you were. You lost focus, my boy. You were looking at your feet rather on the end of the journey. Oh, how I wish I had coached you better – had cheered, “Keep your eyes on the end, Son! Keep your eyes on the end!” I love you. I think I’ll stretch out and go for a run.
All that is gold does not glitter.
Not all those who wander are lost.
The old that is strong does not wither.
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Well, Son, here it is, 3 AM… again… and I am at it! I’ve tossed and turned about all I am willing to do before saying, “To heck with it,” and getting up. I reckon I shall wander these pages a bit, go feed the feral cats, and then head to work to enter some of this pencil’s fruit into the blog, “A Wanderer’s Journal” so that others may join in and… wander along with us.
So… where to today, Son? Shall we lean to the left side or to the right side as we try to balance upon this tightrope of life within this great universe – this wondrous creation that God hath made? You know… that’s another thing about materialism – it not only distracts us from seeing the eternal aspects of creation as God sees them, but it also distracts us from appreciating the abundant and inherent beauty of it all in the moment it is received. Our eyes should be our windows to the world – to the universe – not a computer monitor or a cell phone screen!
All of that is a lie anyway! All of that is what somebody else created for us to see – it’s virtual – it’s preprogrammed – it’s not… real! A crystal clear, predawn sky on a crisp winter’s morning… now that’s real! A tangerine, gray, and gold sunset in the calming sky after a fierce storm… now that’s real! But, again, Son, there is balance to be had. The computer monitor and cell phone screens are modern equivalents of the pencil and paper or the clay tablets of old. They are the canvass and oil painting or the chiseled marble of antiquity. Where would we be without them?
How much poorer would we be without that which others have done before us… and have shared with us? Sure, God’s handiwork is stunning! But… we… are… God’s handiwork! Here, we must be as wise as serpents and as gentle as doves. While we can, and we should, appreciate those who capture those moments God gave them to share with others, we should also be wary that there are those who would use God’s gifts to the world as bait to capture others. Some make delicious cheeses to share… and some put them in traps! Balance, my son, balance.
As we are God’s handiwork, He has gifted us with talents and abilities. There are artists and musicians – poets and singers – mathematicians and visionaries who do make this world more marvelous with their contributions to it, but… cheese could not be used in mousetraps without someone first… making it! Balance! We must always focus on the end lest we fall where we stand.
All this, Son, sort of ties back into those mornings we discussed the… “Twin Perspectives Theory”. Our minds hold a idea of how we think things are… and our brains interpret data absorbed through our senses that helps us determine how things actually are… and sometimes those two conflict. Is our picture of reality based on what God has actually given us – sunsets, night skies, and the wanderings of a wanderer through the woods… or is it based on what others have captured on canvass, in marble, and through camera lenses, and, if so, what was their purpose in sharing that with us? Are they… were they making cheese to share with a weary wanderer… or as bait for a trap?
Every few hundred feet the world changes.
- Roberto Bolano
July 21, 2024
Good morning, Son. I slept in this morning. It’s a little after 5 AM. I guess I was beat after waking at 2:30 or so yesterday. Ha! Anyway, let’s see what our journey has in store for us today. Your mom and I re-watched “The Matrix” movie last night. I’ve been wanting to re-watch it ever since I first mentioned it in the pages of this journal. It’s been quite a while since I last saw it, and I just wanted to make sure that I hadn’t missed any key points or remembered them incorrectly.
Nothing really stuck out any more this time than the last time I watched it other than how much more strongly I thought the analogy of Neo represented the analogy of Jesus being the analogy of mankind… if that makes any sense. In “The Matrix”, Morpheus believes Neo to be… “The One”. It’s funny, but whoever did the closed captioning for the version of the movie we watched last night actually did capitalize “The One” as if it referenced God or something. Anyway, Neo doesn’t believe this of himself, and the others don’t really believe it either, but they support Morpheus and go along with him because he does believe it.
As Neo’s training continues and he gains experience in the field, the confidence he has in himself and in his mission begin to grow. He starts to believe in himself and in his capabilities – not as a god of any sort, but just as a man on a mission, doing the right thing. The more he acts on what he knows to be the right thing to do, the more this reinforces his confidence in himself and in his mission. He becomes… “The One” as he was prophesied to be because he believed – because he finally believed in himself – not in that he was a god or a savior or anything like that, but in that he was doing the right thing.
When are we going to finally believe? When are we going to start acting on what we know to be the right thing to do and then doing it with such frequency and immediacy that it becomes, not second nature, but first nature to us – it becomes who we are? When we do, we will become… “The One(s)” as we were prophesied to be. We will be One with God as Jesus was and as Jesus so fervently prayed for us to be in the Garden of Gethsemane on that night before He was executed for being… “The One”.
I wonder when, my son, people are going to stop following people… and follow God instead… as Jesus did? Oh how I wish that you and I could have talked like this while you were yet wandering this Earth. I so wish that I could have shown you how the agnosticism of my youth was not really aimed toward God… but toward the church. It’s not that I really quit believing in God… I just quit believing in what the church was saying about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, eternity, and all.
Though you see it… there really isn’t a bunny rabbit in the clouds as you lay on your back looking up at them on your blanket after a picnic lunch. There are, however, clouds. The clouds are real, but what you see in them is more in you than in them. Whatever the “church” saw… is gone. Is that to say that God is gone or that Jesus is gone or never was? No! The clouds are still here! The clouds are real! Jesus is real! Jesus is Coming Back… and, soon, we will all see it and believe! This is so reminiscent of Revelation 1:7 “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.”
One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.

Mornin’, Son. So, you see, this… is the Second Coming of Christ. The “First Coming” is when an individual “picnic goer” sees the “bunny rabbit” in the clouds. The Second Coming is when all those in attendance see it. Now, I don’t know whether that means the entire world, all of Christendom, the plurality of mankind, or what, but I believe that that is what this means – this idea of the Second Coming. Like everything else in this narrative, the serpents in the shadows have nudged us off the mark about this for two thousand years! Our eyes are still adjusting to this… new light.
It is time we get them out of our ears, out of our heads, and out of the narrative of humanity. They are the “powers and principalities” against which we fight… or should be fighting. Right now, they are an invisible enemy that we don’t even know exists. They are cloaked. They are truly… serpents in shadows. They bite our heels as we walk, and we know not where to strike to… smite their heads. We must… illuminate our walkway. We must uncloak our enemy, and we must not ever fail to point out a snake to our fellow travelers in order to keep our position, our title, and our pay! That… must stop now!
A Golden Age of humanity is dawning, Son. It will begin the day we see… the “bunny rabbit” in the clouds – the day we see Jesus “coming with clouds”, and when we become the body of God upon this Earth. He will reign and we will prosper – not financially – not necessarily physically, although I suspect that will be part of it. No, we will prosper as mankind – as humanity – because, just as the individual prospers after having been indwelled by the transformative Spirit of Christ and joined His brotherhood to become God’s hands and feet upon this Earth, humanity will likewise prosper. We will become… richer for it. Yes, Son, serpent worship is falling out of vouge. The Golden Age of Mankind – the Age of Aquarius is upon us!
I am not the same having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world.

Mornin’, Son. It’s around 3:30. I’ve been up since a little after 3 AM. When I originally woke, I looked at the clock on my phone and it said, “0007”. Yes, I have it set to military time. Shouldn’t everybody? Anyway, in response to what the clock on my phone said, I said, “Nope! I ain’t doin’ that!” So, I tossed and turned, and my eye twitched, but I did not get out of bed until about three hours later.
Son, this is a big thing – this God issue. I mean… God is infinite, is He not? His universe is infinite… supposedly. Yet the whole of Christendom think He is contained within the covers of a single book called “The Bible”, and they have this huge and vastly varying institution called… “The Church” to enforce this belief upon the world – the belief that “The Bible” is the source – the only source – to all things… God. This censorship thingy we got going on in this modern world of Facebook and Google and YouTube and whatever other BIG tech platforms you want to throw out there shadow-banning, deleting, and shaming folks for spreading misinformation with their “officially sanctioned fact-checkers” ain’t nothin’ new!
Serpents, operating through puppets like Constantine, have been “shadow-banning” for millennia… from shadows. There truly is nothing new under the sun. This perspective that this pencil has enumerated upon these pages is likewise… nothing new. I am quite certain that it has been enumerated upon other pages in previous times and then banned from public access by these serpents using other such tyrannical techniques from the security of the shadows of those previous times.
Like the vampires themselves from which all this secrecy comes, they know that these secrets will be destroyed by the light of day if they are ever exposed. This truly is one of those targets that they must prevent us from hitting at all costs! the Bible is God’s Word – period! The church is inerrant – and that is all there is to it! You must have faith and not question this! Well… you know what? My God is a big Boy! He can take this scrutiny. My God won’t just evaporate or… burst into flames when exposed to the brilliant light of day. Jesus does not need our protection. He needs us to follow Him… to the Father – to the Almighty God, Creator of all there is including the Bible and everything… extra-biblical.
I reckon there is truth in just about everything… it’s just that it has been mixed with manure – with horse shit – with lies! Serpents are wise. They are crafty. They are sly. This is how they came to run the world in which we live. This is why they run the world in which we live. They are ancient creatures who have learned a trick or two over the eons that they have… run the world. They have learned to stay in the shadows., They have learned that it is more efficient to make their enemy miss his target than it is for them to hit theirs… or even to fire a single shot… especially when they care not one iota about collateral damage. They have learned that they cannot contain all the truth that is out there, so they just contaminate it instead. This is an offshoot of the second point – expend no munitions of your own, but make your enemy expend all of his.
These snakes do not care if the truth is out there. They just don’t want us to find it, so they take that “needle” and they hide it in an infinitely large “haystack”. They are not worried that the truth is obscured any more than they are worried about collateral damage. They know the truth. They have it spirited away by their puppets in academia, politics, industry, finance, entertainment, media, science, and, of course, religion. These puppets then lock this truth away in archives, national security issues, trade secrets, voluminous proliferations of legalese, works of fiction, side stories, technical terminology, and the latest translations of copies of copies of copies of… unquestionable sacred texts. All the while, We the People choose sides and debate the… “truth”, these serpents hiss from their shadows, satisfied that we are, instead, fighting amongst ourselves over stuff that is mostly just… BS!
You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.

Mornin’, Son. This world seems so big – so incredibly vast as we wander it on foot, crossing its wide valleys, climbing its steep slopes, and picking our way through its deep forests, but, last night, we had a bit of a small world situation presented to us. Your Aunt Julie called… well, texted… last night to say that she’d just met a couple in her social club or group or whatever it is when they met for dinner. The woman was an hospice chaplain and the man was a musician of some sort. They’d just moved to Ocean Springs, Mississippi from… Long Creek, South Carolina!
Furthermore, she’d been in Mountain View Health where you worked as a cook many times in her capacity as an hospice chaplain. They used to visit some pavilion at a campground around Long Creek where they’d play music and sing songs with some of the rafters from the river. While this woman (I didn’t get her name) did not recognize your name or your face (Aunt Julie showed her a picture of you from her phone… I guess) that doesn’t mean that you all didn’t cross paths at some point as you all wandered the same neck of the woods in this incredibly big… small world.
This give me pause to step back and ask, “Why do I do this? Why do I hold this pencil and scribble down its ramblings each morning?” It is partly for me. I grant you that. It is sort of therapy for me. It helps relieve, I guess, in some small way, some of the guilt I hold on to for failing you as a father. I used to have this saying that I’d… say when I first came to know Christ in a deep and personal way. I’d look into a mirror, and I’d say, “Everything is your fault.” It was, I guess, sort of my spin on this sticker I had… stuck on the rear-view mirror of my car that said, “You’re looking at the problem.”
Son, things happen. Though we may blame God – I know I certainly did blame Him for much after losing two of the most precious children God ever gifted a man with – it isn’t… God’s fault. God no more infringes our freewill to take things from us than He does to give them to us. He no more infringes our freewill to reward us than He does to punish us. He does not… simply move things around like pieces on a chessboard… whether those things are material “blessings” or precious children. He just doesn’t do this!
Things just happen – good or bad. It rains, and, then, sometimes it does not rain… for months! Storms come and storms go, but in the calm between them, it is up to us whether we rebuild… or whether we just sit there and wallow in the debris left by those storms. There is absolutely nothing wrong with accepting help from someone when we are down, injured, or overwhelmed. It is true that we can’t do everything by ourselves, but… neither should we set back and just wait… and wait… and wait…. on someone to do it for us – in place of us. We are, after all, part of… the “ourselves” in, “We can’t do everything by ourselves.”
Many a wanderer found God when they reached the end of themselves. This is one of those areas where I feel I have failed you most, Son. You did not (find God when you reached the end of yourself) and this is precisely why I hold on to this pencil every morning. It cannot change what has happened. It cannot undo what you did, but we are all wanderers upon this Earth and maybe – just maybe – this will help one of our fellow wanderers. As we seek to help ourselves, maybe this will help one of the selves in ourselves who is who is nearing the end of themselves to see that there is… another way.
I have always resented the church for its soft stance and its juvenile take of Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit. I guess that is why I am so hard on her now. I felt like she wasn’t there for me when I needed her. As I have said, I was never really agnostic toward God so much as I was agnostic toward the church – to what the church said was God. I spent over twenty years of my life wandering waywardly around as a church agnostic, not knowing where to go because… surely the church knew what was what, right? It was the universe as the church said… or as science said… or, perhaps, as some other religion said… but it was pretty much religion versus science. I chose science because it seemed the more… legitimate of the two universal models.
Well, I am there again! After twenty or so years of being back in the church, I’ve had it! Holding hands, singing “Kumbaya”, and coloring cartoons of Jesus is all I can take! But this time I can see that science is just as corrupt as is the church. This time… this time I am not alone! This time I know God on a deep and personal level. I know He exists. I am no longer agnostic towards the church. I know the church is wrong! I know the church is corrupt! I know that God is real and so are the serpents who have manipulated both the narrative of the church and the narrative of science from the shadows in which they dwell and thrive.
I just don’t want this same thing to happen to others with whom we wander this Earth as I feel it happened to you, my son, and as it happened to me so many years ago. I want them to know that, just because the church is off the mark about God, that does not mean that they are wrong about God altogether. You can miss the bullseye and still hit the target.
If I had been able to talk to you and get you to be able to see what I see about all this God stuff, maybe you’d still be here a wanderin’ this big old Earth. Who knows where that would have – could have gone? I shutter to think that that possibility – that that journey will never, now, come to be. It has been taken off – cut off – amputated – never to be! This journal is all that remains of that once-possible journey and that is why I hold this pencil in the wee hours before dawn every day. I failed you, Son, and I am so sorry for that. Let’s not fail anyone else wandering this big old, small world. Together, Son, maybe you… and I and… God can help someone who is… at the end of themselves. I love you, Son. I love you.
Wherever you go, go with all your heart.

July 25, 2024
Oh wow! I can’t hardly believe this, Son. I slept all night long and didn’t get up even once – not even to pee. My 4:30 alarm woke me, which is very unusual for me of late… but I’ll take it and be thankful for it. Good morning!
Where to go today? I usually look back over the previous day’s entry to get my bearings for this morning’s journey. As I do, and, sometime as I am scribbling away originally, I see all these different directions that I could go, but, for some reason or another, this pencil picks one of those ways over the others and just goes with it. I attempt to make a mental mark of the trail so that I can backtrack later and pick up on that other direction that this pencil could have gone, but this seems to elude me more times than not. Those markers seem to disappear as I backtrack.
But this gives me a chance to stop and look around for something familiar that just might spark me to remember that other direction I wanted to explore. I look side to side, I look up, I look down, and then… I notice the wonders of the trail upon which I have paused. I see the moss-covered rocks, the beautiful terrain, and the trees dancing in the breezes. I note their branches and how they all diverge from a single trunk… usually. Sometimes there are double or multiple trunks, but, anyway… this reminds me of the trails I have taken, the journeys I have had, the scribblings of this pencil, and the directions it could have gone.
Son, this is why we are supposed to follow God’s voice – God’s Word, if you will – His real Word – that He speaks to you whether you are reading the Bible, watching a fleeting and dazzling sunset, or just wandering this Earth on a daily basis. This is why the Bible is a box and the church is a social club. There is absolutely nothing wrong with reading the Bible or being in a social club. The problem occurs when you compromise yourself to them – when you obey the words of a book rather than the voice of your Creator – when you follow the peer pressure of a trendy group of humans versus following the calling of and conviction by the Spirit of God.
Trees do not follow each other, branches to not all line up in rows, and leaves do not stack themselves like Pringles potato chips in a can. No! They all follow the sun wherever that leads them. This makes for some pretty unusual shapes in nature. No tree in a forest looks like a lollipop – none! Lollipop trees only grow in wide-open lawns or fields by themselves, and they only do this if they have never sustained any sort of storm damage or have never been influenced by some other tree or trees in their past history of… growing.
We aren’t meant to be… lollipop trees either, Son. We get damaged, we bend, we break, we are influenced by others – both positively and negatively – but, in the end, we all have to follow the Son as leaves of the trees follow the sun. To do otherwise only leads to death – physically, relationally, and spiritually. The serpents running this world from the shadows know this. That is why they put God in a box and called it the Bible. Where are the miracles today that are talked about in that Bible? Funny, but they seemed to have disappeared like the mental markers we make in our minds to remind us of the other directions that we could have gone. For the last seventeen hundred years, God has been locked in a box. Unlock that thing! Let God out of that box and watch the miracles of old begin to bloom once again.
I am not saying, here, to throw the Bible away. No! Neither am I saying to disband all churches. No! What I am saying is to let loose of all human authority over you. Read the Bible and let God speak to you through it! Do not let some pedigreed person tell you what it says or means! Go to church and grow that church from the ground up with Christ as the Root. Do not follow the dictates of some over-arching parent organization for fear of being ostracized and cast out of their group. We aren’t supposed to be lollipop people attending lollipop churches. People aren’t perfect, and those that think they are can’t and won’t… ever be changed. It is the same with churches. The arrogance of the church is the very matrix in which the status quo of the last two thousand years thrives.
Why this is so dangerous is because if this is done – if people cleanse themselves of compromise, purge materialism from their souls, and rid themselves of reliance upon the worldly rewards of comfortable lies – if they, instead, open their souls to receive God’s Spirit, He will then reign upon this Earth… and the serpents slithering through the shadows will lose their grip on the strings of their puppets. Like Pinocchio, these puppets will then become real boys and girls with real souls that answer the call of a real God and follow His voice, doing His will. Until tomorrow, my son. I love you.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Mornin’, Son. Oh how I wish that you could have heard those faint whisperings of that still, small voice amid the droning of the hurricane of this life rather than have heard those fabricated factoids shouted by and echoed in this world to include the humming of, “Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it’s off to work we go,” of the church as she labored to sacrifice Jesus, all over again, to save herself – to keep herself in power at the expense of giving that power to God so that He could cut the strings of worldly puppets, animate their souls, and make them into… real boys and girls.
I desired nothing more than this for you, my son. I did not want to control you. I did not want you controlled by the rigid dictates of religion either. No! Son, I wanted you to be… a real boy, with a real soul, following the convictions of truth that stirred within that real soul, to do what you knew to be right. I wanted for your ears to hear that faint whisper amid the hurricane – to know that God was there for you – to know that He was there to guide you – to direct you whenever you needed direction – to keep you company whenever you felt alone – to love you… no matter what.
This is all God wants for us. He cares not for religious showmanship. That is for men… to show other men. How does that benefit God in any way? How does that advance His plan for the universe… or for humanity? Jesus operated within the structure of the religion of His day because that was the matrix of His day. Were He here today, He’d likely be a… “Christian”. I don’t know. I don’t care. Religion doesn’t matter because religion begets religiosity – not devotion to God.
Are there pious men and women within religion? Sure, but they are blindfolded ax throwers at a moving target. They think they are spreading God’s message to a godless world when they are, in fact, sharing a less God message to a world that is starving for God! The serpents in shadows have rigged the trick! The adoring fans in the audience see the pious men, they see the moving target, and they see the ax thrown. They think they see it hit the target, but… do they?
This is the trick that these serpents in shadows have been pulling for… I don’t know… millennia. Who knows? Make a box – a theater – convince the attendees that it is the universe – that it is reality – put up a projection screen, let the movie play, sell some popcorn, some drinks, and some candy, and… viola! You have a captured audience… for as long as you can hold their attention.
Well, attention spans are short these days. The Bible is a box. It has been presented as reality – as the universe of all things God. The church is the stage – the movie screen where all the… action takes place, but the popcorn is getting stale, the soda pops have lost their fizz, and the candy just ain’t hittin’ the spot no more!
The captured audience is restless, the people can no longer sit still in their seats, they’re looking for an exit door because the “movie” is a flop! We the People want more! We want God! He is calling. His still, small voice is there. Some are starting to catch little snippets of it, here and there, between the booming of the surround sound when there is no action on the screen. Yeah, Son, Jesus is Coming… Back! I love you, Son.
It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.
- Ernest Hemingway
July 27, 2024
Good morning, son. I am now only ten days behind entering these journal entries into the the blog site, “A Wanderer’s Journal”. Hopefully, I can get caught up over the weekend and start fresh next week entering each day on the day this pencil inscribes it.
So, what is real, my son? In a world so chock-full of lies so beautifully adorned and so ingeniously crafted, how do we tell what is real… and what ain’t? God gave us guts! We are to use them for more than digesting food. He gave us ears to hear and eyes to see, and this isn’t, here, referring to the physical. They are analogies for the senses of our souls. Discernment, like pretty much any other skill, must be honed – must be sharpened – must be fine-tuned by exercising it on a regular basis.
Many times it may not be possible to discern what is real or true, but discerning what is false might be… so that can kind of narrows things down for us. Through the process of elimination, we may be able to eventually determine what is real or true. As vast as this physical world we wander is, so too is this matrix of lies through which we view it! I may not know exactly what is real from inside this matrix, but that does not preclude me from knowing that the matrix itself is false. So, I must start there!
It’s not that everything making up this matrix of lies is itself a lie – is itself… a fabrication. No! They weave much truth in with falsehood to make the overarching lie more pleasing to the eye of the beholder. Let’s, here, stop for a moment, take a break, catch our breath, and make clear that a falsehood in an untruth in the general sense. It is merely something that is not true. A lie is a falsehood that is told with intent. It is the purposeful passing on of false information. Useful idiots spread falsehoods out of ignorance. Serpents and their puppets spread lies because they have evil designs and those lies are like nails – they help hold the fabrication together.
Now, with that said, let’s pick up our packs and move along. One thing I have been feeling called to bring up in these… wanderings is the issue of science. Science, like religion, is supposed to be a search for truth; but it, like religion, has been taken over. The narrative of science has been taken over by those serpents pulling on the strings of their puppets in academia from the shadows in which they lurk.
Who knows what is real out there? Just how much of the cosmology we’ve been taught, whether in science classes or in science fiction movies, is what they say it is… and how much ain’t? I don’t know! How much of biology can we believe? I don’t know! It is going to take the “experts” from those fields of study cutting the strings attaching them to the puppet masters in the shadows and exercising their own sense of discernment to find out.
People in all industries – in all fields of human endeavor are going to have to do this as well. The Golden Age of humanity and the Second Coming of Christ will comingle on the day we all cut the strings binding us to puppet masters in the dark. How silly will they look, these soul-less serpents, waving their hands around in expectation of some grand performance at the ends of their strings only to find that their stages are empty and void of all activity but the dangling of their strings. Their puppets have been turned into real boys and girls and are off, running under the sunshine of a new Golden Age and running… under New Management.
Adventure is not outside man; it is within.

Mornin’, Son. What will this Golden Age of Man be like? Will it be the utopia we all visualize – the lion laying down with the lamb – the eternal springtime – the everything’s coming up roses kind of utopia where nothing goes wrong… ever? No, or, at least, I don’t think so. All these utopias and the metaphors of utopias are just language – just literary devices that try to convey an idea from one to the many who read the account of the idea. I am in utopia now. I am in heaven now. Is everything perfect in my utopia? No. Is my physical body dead with my soul having risen to some paradise in the clouds? No. Heaven, and the utopia that it is, is but a way of putting it when you walk with God in the cool of the evening… or any other time of the day.
I am never alone, for He is with me. Though storms come and floods sometime follow, and those are, months later, replaced with drought, I waver not. Am I a rock that weathers all without being phased? No. I do have my ups and downs, and even so, rocks eventually succumb to eternity. God, though, does not. He is eternity, and He… is with me. Though I am no longer a mighty oak, neither am I a rotten log on the forest floor, though soon I shall be. I can remember the seedling I once was and know that I was once but a seed before that. I (my physical body) am not eternal.
My utopia is not perfect. There is no such thing. Heaven is a state of mind… and God is here… with me… in it. He is the Source of it – not some serpent in the shadows. The matrix I perceive is not the projection of some other’s production. It is something I see with the eyes of my soul from peering out at the scenery that I have passed as I have wandered these 62 years through wildernesses far from home… and in backyard gardens built with my own two hands. I am equally at home in either, for He is there… in my heart. I can go nowhere that He is not, for He is there… in my heart.
The only place God is not, is in a heart that is hardened or closed to Him. Am I saying that there is something God cannot do? No. I am saying there is something God will not do. He will not enter uninvited. Some people see God in everything. Others see God in nothing. The difference is not in God’s consistency… or lack thereof. The difference is whether the eyes of the soul of the person doing the seeing are tuned in to the fabricated projections from serpents in shadows, or open to the Light of Day and all that It… illuminates.
Every few hundred feet the world changes.

July 29, 2024
Good morning, Son. I must get back out on the road again. It’s been raining here a lot over the last week and I’ve not hit the road much during that time. This old body feels it too. So… I am going to attempt to get back in the routine of “running” as soon as this pencil does its thing.
So, science and religion are both corrupted – neither is a pursuit of truth today; utopia – heaven and dystopia – hell are not literal, but are literary devices used to describe the frames of mind and spirit of those who hold them – those who are with and without God, respectively; and God himself uses no magic – does not break His own rigid physical laws of the universe to accomplish His will, nor does He move us around like pieces on a chessboard within that universe. What is going on? Is there a God, or is He just a literary device as well? If there is no magic, are there miracles? What is the difference?
Son, this is the deal… and, so far as I can see, this is the only deal. God is like a memory held within the deep recesses of your mind of something that happened far back in your youth… on the brink of your ability to remember. Only you can determine whether that memory is real or not – whether it is a part of who you are or not. God has placed this “memory” into each of us. It is there, but only we can discern it… as individuals. I cannot discern it for you. You cannot discern it for me.
Serpents in shadows will attempt to convince you that it is a false memory. They will, if they cannot convince you of that, try to distort that memory of God into something that it is not. Why? They know that if you have that faint memory of God brought to the forefront of your being and it becomes who you are… that there is no stopping you! They know that all of their little tricks to get you to bow to them would no longer work on you. They know that you would then be a free man who would no longer swayed by tidbits held over his head – that you would no longer jump higher and ever higher as they raised that “treat” higher and yet higher over your head just to see… how high you would jump.
This is a target that they do not want you to know even exists, let alone hit the bullseye on. This is why they twist and distort the idea of God, cram Him into a box, and attempt to keep Him there via their “private security apparatus”, the church. They know that to control the people who wander this world, they have to first compromise the people who wander this world. They also know that he who is with God, in a real and intimate way, cannot be compromised and, therefore, cannot be controlled.
But… we are only human. We do make mistakes. We stumble and fall, and we have ups and downs. We, if we know this, can be discouraged and just give up, or we can be strengthened by this knowledge. We can succumb to those who slither in shadows and who trick us with treats, taking whatever treats we can reach as they hold higher and yet higher those treats to see just what kind of tricks we are willing to do for them; or we can refuse to be compromised, gain strength from that refusal, refocus our aim, and take another shot at the bullseye of that target – that forbidden target that they don’t want us to ever hit. What shall it be, Son? I love you. I’m going to stretch out and go for a run.
Wherever you are, be all there.
- Jim Elliot
July 30, 2024
Good morning, Son. In getting back to those four questions at the end of the second paragraph from yesterday’s entry, “What’s going on?” What’s going on is that things are in a confused state in this… fog of war. This is war, Son. It is a war of good versus evil. You know, it is usually put that way, “Good versus evil,” but it should more rightly be, “Evil versus good,” because evil has been at war with us for a long time, and for much of that time and by most of us, we are, not only not at war with evil, but we don’t even realize that they are at war with us!
“Is there a God, or is He just a literary device as well?” Well, that is exactly what they want you to think. Look, literary devices are devised to convey complex thoughts about intangible things from one to another. There is bound to be some mishandling of that conveyance, but… that does not mean that the object of that literary device’s creation is not real!
Now, whether you want to take the literary device at face value – as something literal, or delve more deeply into the subject of that literary device in an attempt to get what is actually being discussed, is up to you. Most people are… “literally” lazy. They take the easy way out and just believe the literal interpretation of what they’re reading… particularly if what they are reading comes from an authoritative source. Enter, stage left, the Bible.
Whether on stage, on screen, or on the battle field smoke is used to confuse and confound – to hide and disguise. God is being hidden from us right before our very eyes behind the smokescreen of religion and within the theater of the church. “Is God real?” Only you can answer that. If He is not real to you… He is not real. If He is a literary device to you… He is just a literary device. You have to believe. You have to do this if God is to be real! Or… you can just sit back and enjoy the show being put on by others for you. It’s up to you!
“If there is no magic, are there miracles? What’s the difference?” Magic is the breaking of those rigid, unbreakable laws of nature like gravity… or, at least, the illusion of breaking those unbreakable laws. God does not break His own laws. First of all, He is ultimately ethical. He just wouldn’t break His own laws so that He could have His way. He’s not a child… nor is He a criminal. Secondly, God is all powerful, He is eternal, and He is omnipresent. He does not need to break laws to have His will carried out. Eternity, if nothing else, will take care of that for Him.
So far as creating the illusion of breaking laws goes, I just do not think that that is God’s style either. I do not think God to be a huckster or an illusionist. He doesn’t trick people into following Him. He gathers those to Him that do follow Him by gently and eternally calling to them amid the cold, hard realities of this universe – not by tricking them with smoke and mirrors. That is more the MO of those serpents slithering through the shadows to run the world and reap gain at the expense of those so tricked.
God’s only gain in our following Him is our company and our prosperity – not materially, but as people – as a race of people. Son, this is where the miracle comes in. In this eternal and infinite universe, you can hear the faint whisperings of this still, small voice. You can take notice of it or ignore it. You can strain to discern it over the droning of the hurricane that is life… or you can quiet your soul and let it wash over you and through you and become you through and through, but, Son… only you can do this, and that is when the miracles begin. More to come, Son. I love you!
One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.

Mornin’, Son. This morning, as I was feeding the feral cats, I stretched out on the driveway and did some crunches to try to unquink this old back of mine. When I sat up from my sit-ups, there was a big old, fine, fat, healthy deer standing in our front yard watching me. Her ears were all popped up in that alert, “Hey, what’s that,” look. I sat there, she stood there… gawking, and several minutes passed… or it seemed so anyway. It was probably only a minute. I made a few exaggerated movements, and she finally gave it up and trotted off. Rudy cat was there. He does that sometimes – hangs out while the ferals have breakfast. He’s always been more tolerant of other cats than Charlie. Anyway, the cats all noticed the deer too. In fact, that’s what first drew my attention to it – all the cats were looking in the same direction – a sure sign that something’s different.
Hmm… is that a fork in the trail? Let’s take it and see where it goes, shall we? Like a… pride of cats (it works for lions), we should be wary when we notice everyone looking the same way, for something must be amiss. More and more people are beginning to look in the direction of the “elites” who run this world from the shadows of the wealth they’ve gained from owning everything in this world. Serpents in shadows – “elites” in shadows – same thing!
People – We the People – just don’t want to let loose of this “knight in shining armor on a white horse” syndrome that we suffer from. Ain’t nobody with goobly-gobs of money gonna come rushing in to save you! It just ain’t gonna happen! Oh, they may come rushing in alright… like sharks, but are sharks there to save you? Huh?
This is where their puppets come into play. The serpents in shadows front these puppets to play some nice guy in a pink sweater with a really over-the-top soft spoken voice to ease your fears and let you know that, “Everything’s going to be fine because this is what we are going to do to help you…” Bullshit! Ain’t going to happen! They are there… to take advantage of you… in this situation… that they engineered… more than likely… or, at least, encouraged to happen.
People have got to stop following people! Instead, people need to hone the senses of their souls, learn to discern the truth amid lies, and be very wary of “knights in shining armor riding in on white horses to… save the day!” Any time there’s a disaster or a catastrophe of some sort, and someone is there, Johnny on the spot, saying, “Quick! This way! This is what we need to do…” and everybody just follows right along – just looks the same direction… something is most likely… amiss! Beware!
Falsehoods fall apart in the Light of Day, to be sure, but these puppets of these serpents thrive in the spot light of the stages upon which they dangle at the ends of the strings in the hands of these serpents who are hiding in those shadows created by the wealth that they have gained from owning… everything. We must stop looking at the puppets! We must look up, peer into the darkness, and strain our eyes – the eyes of our souls – to focus on and see… the serpents in the shadows who manipulate everything and create the illusion of the greatest show on Earth, “We Are Here to Help!”
Oh, the trail is branching in so many different directions now! Where to go? Son, people want to help… or feign that sentiment to their benefit. It is up to us to discern the difference. Good people want to pitch in and assist others when disaster strikes. Bad people know this and use it to their advantage. It corrupts the whole thing! Good people are discouraged when they see this going on, and bad people are encouraged when they see it. They, like sharks, are emboldened and swoop in when they… smell blood in the waters.
There is such a blessing to the soul when a good person helps lift another after they have fallen. There is, conversely, a curse to the soul when one takes advantage of another while they are down and vulnerable. It darkens their soul and thrusts them further into the… shadows. It is this way with all “sin”, and this is the trail we shall explore next time. For now, the day beckons. I must, as the slave I am, attend her needs. I love you, Son!
All that is gold does not glitter.
Not all those who wander are lost.
The old that is strong does not wither.
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
